Established in 1972 following the closure of the Mohawk Institute Residential School, the centre preserves, promotes, and shares the language, history, art, and culture of the Haudenosaunee (Hodinohsho:ni) peoples of the Eastern Woodlands. It features a museum, art galleries, archives, language programs, and educational exhibits, offering visitors a meaningful opportunity to learn about Indigenous heritage and the legacy of residential schools.
