Peawanuck is one of the most remote communities in Ontario — located deep in the Hudson Bay Lowlands near the Winisk River.
Location: Peawanuck, ON
Season: Open for all seasons
Peawanuck is close to where the river meets the Arctic-like tundra of the far north. It sits far beyond road networks, surrounded by wetlands, rivers, and subarctic wilderness. It feels closer to Nunavut or northern Manitoba than southern Ontario.
